FSX Mitsubishi J8M1 Shūsui has been released!
As a Japanese, I am releasing my first Japanese aircraft!

You can download this J8M1 Shusui from "FlightSim.com" and "Simviation".
I have not uploaded to sites other than the above.

The name Shusui expresses "autumn clear water" in Japanese characters, and the meaning is "a very sharp Japanese sword."
The Mitsubishi J8M Shusui is a Japanese secret weapon jointly developed by the Japanese Navy and the Army at the end of World War II and flies with rocket power.
It was based on the German Messerschmitt Me163.

Me163 materials provided by Germany were sunk by the US military while being transported by submarine.
The materials of Me163 that arrived in Japan had only a photograph of the exterior and a small amount of data.
However, Japanese aviation engineers completed the J8M1 Shusui in just one year and made its maiden flight on July 7, 1945.

I admire the high technological capabilities of the Japanese who completed Japan's first rocket aircraft and the first tailless aircraft in just one year.

This unknown power may have created postwar Japan.
And I've always wanted to make this aircraft as an FS model.
The construction period is about one year, which is the same as Shusui 77 years ago.
But I thought about building a whole new model within half a year, and chose Shusui, which has a simple look and no complicated landing gear.
Of course, there is also a reason why I wanted to build Shusui, which Japan is proud of.
However, once you start building, difficult problems will appear one after another, they will be solved, and new problems will appear again.

It wasn't easy, it's the same as usual.
Repeat this many times to complete the FS model ...
It's a hobby that is really bad for my health.

Since Shusui was a Japanese aircraft of WW2, I made all new gauges.
I created a gauge with normal XML, but found that I couldn't see it at night without turning on the nightlight.

The needles and numbers on the gauges of the Japanese aircraft of WW2 were painted with luminous paint, and it seems that they emitted light by themselves at night.

This Shusui can see the gauge glowing at night without turning on the panel lights.
I wanted to reproduce that situation.

You can't do that with an XML gauge.
This glowing gauge relies on existing "night textures" rather than new techniques.

f:id:uenoshing:20220313081911j:plainThis Shusui used a gauge animation gauge.
This is not new either.
I think it's a technique from the dawn of flight simulators.

With a little ingenuity, the FS model has a lot of potential.
That is the appeal of building an FS model.

This time I tried the needle animation key for the first time.
And again, I was spending a lot of time ...
I have a headache over and over again, I want to end it, I don't want to see it.

In other words, I completed it with the XML gauge, but I did everything again with the animation gauge.
I'm really stupid, haha.

f:id:uenoshing:20220312121443j:plainBut when the model is complete, the painful struggles are a thing of the past and I forget them all!
I feel very good! !!

But for the time being, I don't want to think about the next model.
However, I want to complete the XFV-1 as soon as possible.

But I don't want to think when it will be ...
