Creating Aircraft for FSX

New work under construction 4

This is the FSX XF-10F currently in progress.
Recently I finally understood the specular map, so I will post it instead of a memo.
I'm using MCX to fit FSX model XF10F materials extracted from FSDSv3.5.

"Specurer Map Power Scaler", 1, 25 and 50 each from left

I learned a little bit of specular map quirks in the last XFV-1, but I think I understand a lot more this time around.
Every time I build a new model, I learn new techniques.

I would like to apply my newly learned technique to the previous model, but I don't have time...

The specular map as I understood it this time is the reflection of the fuselage surface and the seams of the rivets and panels that you see when the sun reflects off of them.

In the past, I used to draw reflections and shadows directly in the texture file to make my drawing look 3D, but this is no longer necessary.

The texture is OK with a simple fill!

Specular mapping can also be used to express reflections and unevenness.

Professionals probably understood this, but it was a great discovery for me as a self-taught 3DCG learner.
The bump map introduced in the previous XFV-1 is no longer used in this XF10F.
(partially used)
Of course, I wanted to use it, but it turned out that it wasn't a panacea.
It seems that you can substitute it with a specular map.

The 3D world is really interesting.
